Janet Boultbee

B Arts, Dip Ed, ATCL, B SpPath, MSPA - CPSP

Janet is a Certified Practising Speech and Language Pathologist, Speech Pathology Australia, and Queensland registered classroom Teacher and AVT-ASD with over 25 years professional experience working with adults, adolescents, children, families, care teams, and government and non-government organisations. Janet gained her qualifications from the University of Queensland and is also an Associate of the Trinity College of Music, London 


 Janet sees patients across the lifespan and is dedicated to providing experienced, personalised professional response and guidance to all patients’ communication and, or swallowing needs.  Services include:

  • Assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and management, including for complex communication issues 
  • Up-skilling an individual's support team to optimise communication and enhance family and social networking
  • Therapy for delayed speech,  communication development; literacy; understanding and social language; voice; rehab; accent reduction and adult dysphagia
  • Comprehensive reporting including recommendations for both further referrals and strategies for school and other support personnel

Patients do not need a referral to see Janet, but in some cases referral through a GP or specialist will entitle you to a Medicare Rebate.  Partial rebates are available when:

  • Speech pathology is covered through your Private Health "Allied Health" (extras) insurance- check with your health fund for details
  • A patient is referred by a GP under a Chronic Disease Plan (previously known as the Enhanced Primary Care Plan)
  • An eligible child is referred by a psychiatrist or paediatrician under the Helping Children with Autism scheme 
  • An eligible child is referred under the Commonwealth Better Start Early Intervention scheme
