Dietitian and Nutrition

A dietitian is a health practitioner who can help you to improve your physical and mental health through nutrition.  Dietetic therapy includes:

  • Identifying and discussing your dietary concerns
  • Assessing your current nutritional status
  • Understanding your current dietary habits
  • Developing goals that are specific to your lifestyle and food preferences/beliefs
  • Building self-efficacy in managing your nutrition

A dietitian can work with people of any age or fitness to improve health.  A dietitian will help to address:

  • Weight management
  • Eating disorders, fussy eating and symptoms including low appetite or food cravings
  • ARFID: Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder
  • Nutrition in chronic disease, pregnancy or during recovery from substance abuse
  • Nutrition for the older person and for people with intellectual disabilities
  • Gut health, including issues with bloating, constipation or irritable bowel

At Thoughtful Health our experienced dietitian works collaboratively with patients, families, and other therapists in a holistic approach to management. Our dietitian has extensive knowledge and experience in providing nutrition counselling to create behaviour change, and takes a compassionate approach to give you the tools to nourish your body and mind.
