Dr Laura Hamilton graduated with Honours from the University of Queensland and has worked in a variety of settings from community clinics to tertiary teaching hospitals.  

 

Dr Hamilton has advanced training in both Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, and has expertise in the treatment of chronic and persistent pain as well as functional and somatoform disorders. 

 

Dr Hamilton is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.  She has had roles in advocacy including as Chairperson for the Queensland Branch of the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  She is a current member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal and is a Visiting Medical Officer with the Metro South Hospital and Health Service.  Dr Hamilton is qualified to treat patients of any age.

 

Dr Hamilton has experience in both long and short-term psychotherapy.  She provides second opinions for complex cases and also offers Pre-Surgical Assessments and Independent Medical Examinations.
